Veterans often come home from deployments abroad to cities and communities that make them feel discarded and lonesome. The duty they’ve fulfilled and the unique experiences they’ve had by being in active service regularly goes unnoticed and they tend to feel isolated and misunderstood.

There are around 190,000 veterans living in New York and so many of them share these same feelings of despair. It is for that reason that in 2015, the NYC Veterans Alliance was founded by a close group of veterans who were compelled to create a space that would provide a voice for other veterans and their loved ones. Their mission is to provide as many resources and services to local veterans as possible so that they may feel connected with their community and appreciated for what they’ve been through.
